I graduated from Monrovia High in 1972. After a teaching career that culminated in my retirement in 2014, I started a business dedicated to financial literacy for middle-class families, with a special focus on supporting people of color. I conduct workshops for both youth and adults to help build practical money-management skills and long-term financial resiliency.

I am a longtime member of the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Monrovia and a proponent of interfaith collaboration. Over the years I have taken on leadership roles across the community: I’ve been active with the Monrovia Duarte Black Alumni Association, hosted multiple shows at KGEM Studio, and served as Chair of Community Media of the Foothills (KGEM Studio). I have been a board member for six years.

My activism extends to causes and organizations that matter deeply to me, including the O2 Breathe Walk for Pulmonary Hypertension, the NAACP Pasadena Branch, the Monrovia Community Coordinating Council, and Monrovia ChangeMakers. My work is rooted in fostering inclusivity and community unity, and in recognition of my volunteer efforts I was honored as the 2021 Older American of the Year.

Gautam Godse Vice Chairperson

I’m Gautam Godse, founder and CEO of Appmosis, Inc., a Monrovia-based consulting firm I started in 2011 to build Apple-focused products. Over 15 years I’ve grown Appmosis into a global firm that advises and invests in startups, turning ideas into scalable, user-centered products.

With 30 years in tech — including roles at Yahoo, Belkin, LegalZoom, and ZenBusiness — I combine product innovation and leadership across consumer and enterprise settings. That guides my mentoring, technology evaluation, and early-stage investing.

I’ve lived in Monrovia for 21+ years. I serve as Secretary and formerly served as President of the 90-year-old Monrovia Tennis Club, where community and stewardship matter as much as competition. I play tennis, am training to be a pilot, and produce video podcasts. My wife, Hoofrish, is a graphic designer and ceramic artist; we have two daughters.

I recently launched Tech Tips with Gautam at KGEM and have appeared on KGEM TV’s Digital Dialogue. I look forward to continuing collaborations with Community Media of the Foothills and KGEM to help local entrepreneurs and residents understand technology practically and accessibly.

Fred Wasson Board Treasurer

I’m recently retired after a 40-year career as an investment professional in commercial real estate and financial services. I’m now offering my business and financial expertise to help nonprofit organizations address strategic and financial challenges as an unpaid consultant and board member. I’m eager to give back, build meaningful community connections, and support local nonprofits in strengthening governance, financial planning, budgeting, risk management, and fundraising strategy. I bring experience in long-range financial forecasting, capital planning, performance measurement, and stakeholder communication, and I’m comfortable working with executive teams and boards to implement practical, sustainable solutions.

Sheila Spicer-Batice Board Secretary

I am a lifelong Monrovian with a deep passion for community building. After 39 years of dedicated service to the City of Monrovia, I recently retired but continue involvement in various community programs. I am honored to serve on the Board of Community Media of the Foothills (CMF), an organization that plays an essential role in fostering community connections through the services it provides. I look forward to working alongside my fellow Board members to support and enhance these invaluable services. Together, we can continue to strengthen our community through the important work CMF provides.

Stephanie Rosa Board Compliance Officer

I am a proud native of Monrovia and a graduate of MHS Class of '94; go Wildcats! It is a privilege to serve the San Gabriel Valley and collaborate with community leaders in supporting the mission of Community Media of the Foothills (CMF): "empowering local voices and celebrating the rich diversity of our community." With years of professional legal experience, community partnering, and being of service to my community, I seek to enhance CMF's framework to ensure its enduring presence in our community.

Barbara McNellis

Board of Director

My passion is working with people. I was an elementary teacher for 17 years and an instructional coach for two years. I met my future husband and moved to Apple Valley, California, to be closer to his job. He was a captain at the local fire department and a teacher at the college. I became an elementary teacher and we stayed up in the desert for 20 yrs., raising our family. Since then, my husband has passed away and my kids are grown and out of the house. I moved back down to Monrovia a little over a year ago. It was the best decision I could have made. I am so happy living back in this community. I loved living in Monrovia. It always felt like a safe, tight knit community.
I am so impressed with what KGEM offers to the community and I hope to contribute my strengths and talents to the studio. I look forward to working closely with CMF and see how I can help support programming that serves the citizens in our community.

I am a retired Los Angeles County Deputy Public Defender with over 35 years of experience defending Constitutional rights. I serve on the Measure K committee and have spent over a decade volunteering with Monrovia Fire and Rescue CERT and the Monrovia Historical Museum. I joined the CMF Board to champion the First Amendment and ensure our community maintains a "front-row seat" to local government. When not volunteering, I have three wonderful children:  Matt, Marie, Molly and greatest partner Deborah!
